Send Me an Angel ukulele cover (Real Life)

This is a cover of the 1983 synthpop song ‘Send Me an Angel’ by Australian group Real Life. I’m also not 100% happy with the recording but I never am because that’s my nature so whatever! It’s one of my favourite songs & I love playing it.

{Andi B. Goode: Square buttons and a round collar}

Even just last year I wouldn’t have worn a dress like this - I’d have told myself it was cute but not ‘right’ for my body shape and I’m trying to stop myself from doing that. I like this cut of dress and I do feel comfortable in it, despite fearing I may not (because how I thought I would look), and I don’t want to stop myself from wearing clothes I like because I told myself it wouldn’t be right for me or I was influenced by outside sources. This taps in a little to what I wrote here but I think I’d like to explore these ideas further one day (I’d link to other great posts about similar ideas but I’m kind of tired right now). But for now I’m going to wear cute 60s style dresses and just not care.

Still like this photo of me from a couple of years ago. It was originally in colour, which is why the exposure is a bit off.

I got dressed up yesterday to go see a movie but then I freaked out about going to the cinema (thanks, social anxiety!) and went to the shops & bought James Spader movies instead. I got mum to take a couple of photos with my phone anyway because I looked cute and I like my new 60s style but just completely new dress. Sometimes I still like to dress all in black. And I’ve just noticed there is a black cat cutout behind me, too.

Maybe I know ukulele cover (Lesley Gore)

I’ve been on a Lesley Gore kick, this week, so I thought I’d have a bash at one of my favourite of her songs. I’m not entirely sure I like the sentiment of the song but, boy, it’s a GREAT pop song. And I wanted to do one that maybe doesn’t get as much attention as her other songs.
Listening back I think I sound a bit blocked up - hopefully it’s just how I’m singing and not the signs of an oncoming cold!

There’s a Rainbow ‘Round my Shoulder ukulele cover

I have a lot of vintage sheet music & I’ve been meaning to go through & teach myself some of the songs as part of a challenge, of sorts. I’ve finally recorded the first song - its in the original key of the sheet music but I think it’s actually a little low for my very small range so my singing is a bit flat. But it’s still a very cute song. Enjoy! This song was originally recorded by Al Jolson who I’m not overly keen on but I’m going to do posts about these on my other blog…soonish. So there’ll be more info about the song when I get around to that.
